October’s CLS, “Combatting Violence Against Women,” is hosted in recognition of DV Awareness Month & will feature speaker Dr. Tasha Menaker.

About the speaker:

Dr. Tasha Menaker has over 17 years of cross-sector experience addressing sexual and domestic violence, sex trafficking, and improving responses to survivors. She has served as an expert on domestic and sexual violence in multiple forums, including national and international media, statewide task forces, and national research collaboratives. Menaker has a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, specializing in gender-based violence, and an MA in Clinical Psychology focused on trauma and post-traumatic growth.

Menaker has published a book chapter and several empirical articles on sexual and domestic violence, as well as sex trafficking, and has taught university courses on Gender and Crime and Sex Trafficking in the U.S.

Currently, Menaker is the Director of Social Advocacy at Match Group, the parent company for over 15 dating apps worldwide, including Tinder, Hinge, and OkCupid. Within this role, she creates global partnerships with NGOs and advocacy groups to enhance safety on dating platforms. Prior to joining Match Group, Tasha was with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence for seven years, most recently as Chief Strategy Officer.
