Breaking Barriers During Mental Health Awareness Month: Fresh Start Announces Expanded Services for Women of Color Through $1.3 million Investment from JPMorgan Chase

PHOENIX, AZ (May 17, 2023) – JPMorgan Chase broke barriers during Mental Health Awareness Month with a generous $1.3 million investment in the women Fresh Start serves across Greater Phoenix. This financial commitment from JPMorgan Chase to Fresh Start, one of only eight organizations nationwide to receive a grant, aimed to address the disparities in mental health support, particularly for women of color. The grant prioritizes mental health services and expands access to Fresh Start’s Impact Program, increasing the number of women supported on their journeys to self-sufficiency and economic independence. This initiative is aligned with JPMorgan Chase’s commitment to racial equity and economic inclusion across the country.

Listen to the conversation between Kim McWaters, President and CEO of Fresh Start, and Kathy Hu, Managing Director for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, as they discuss the significance of this grant in the video below.
