FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Phoenix, AZ – Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is excited to announce their involvement in the 2018 Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge. The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge began in 2005 as a public education and fundraising program aimed at raising awareness of the prevalence of domestic violence and financial abuse and the need for resources to help survivors.
Allstate and the Allstate Foundation have been long time supporters of Fresh Start. Not only has Fresh Start been a participant in the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge, but also implements the Purple Purse Moving Ahead Through Financial Management Curriculum that was created by Allstate to empower women financially.
“Supporting the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge is a wonderful way to help victims of domestic violence move from survival mode to thriving,” says Fresh Start Women’s Foundation Development Manager Heidi Coupland. “The Challenge raises critical funds for Fresh Start’s support groups, one-on-one social work services, and myriad of workshops that help women develop and strengthen boundaries, practice self-care, and advance their financial health through Allstate’s Moving Ahead curriculum.”
Fresh Start will be hosting a kick-off event to mark the start of the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge and acknowledge Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Fresh Start is hosting an event! Fresh Start will be bringing together community partners, volunteers and media for a special morning event.
“We want to kick off the 2018 Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge in a really big way,” explains Coupland. “We will have our participating team members, community volunteers, staff and clients tying purple ribbons around the courtyard and sharing words of encouragement for victims of domestic violence. We invite the community to join our campaign!”
You can participate in the 2018 Purple Purse Challenge and donate to Fresh Start by visiting their CrowdRise page. The campaign kicks off on October 2, 2018 and will be accepting donations on that date and throughout the month of October.
