Leadership transition carries forward a legacy of service and a continued commitment to empowering and lifting up Arizona women and their families
PHOENIX, AZ (October 19, 2026) – Fresh Start Women’s Foundation today announced Christine Sullivan has joined the organization as Chief Financial Officer. Sullivan’s appointment follows the retirement of longtime CFO Lata Quinn.
In her role, Sullivan will lead Fresh Start’s financial operations and continue to strengthen the foundation and infrastructure that allow the organization to create opportunities for women on their paths to economic independence and self-sufficiency.
“Fresh Start’s work to support women in building stability and stronger futures deeply resonates with me,” said Sullivan. “I’m honored to join this team and help carry forward the financial and operational strength Lata’s leadership has brought to Fresh Start and the women we serve.”
Sullivan began her nonprofit career working directly with women and children experiencing homelessness, an experience that shaped her connection to mission-driven work. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President of Finance at HonorHealth Foundation and previously as Chief Financial Officer at Valley of the Sun United Way. Sullivan earned an MBA in accounting from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Arizona State University. In 2024, she was named Financial Executives International’s Controller of the Year.
“Christine brings a thoughtful approach to financial stewardship and a genuine appreciation for the work we do. We are excited to welcome her to the team and look forward to the leadership she will bring to Fresh Start’s future,” said Fresh Start’s President and CEO, Kim McWaters. “We are also deeply grateful to Lata for the profound impact she has had on this organization. Her steady leadership and dedication have made Fresh Start stronger, leaving a legacy that will continue to shape our work in the years to come. We wish Lata much happiness in her retirement.”
Quinn’s retirement marks the close of a meaningful chapter for Fresh Start. Her connection to the nonprofit began as a volunteer before she stepped in to provide interim CFO support and later joined the organization permanently.
As a member of the executive team, Quinn helped guide Fresh Start through growth and change, strengthening its financial and operational foundation. Her leadership also helped the organization adapt its operations and expand flexible ways for women to access services, both online and in person. She leaves Fresh Start stronger, more resilient, and better positioned to deliver on its mission and continue serving women and families across the Valley.
