PHOENIX, AZ (November 7, 2024) – FFresh Start is honored to announce that the 30th Annual Charity Golf Classic presented by Valley Toyota Dealers raised over $475,000 to help Arizona women achieve self-sufficiency. On Friday, November 1st at Talking Stick Golf Club, the Fresh Start Men’s Board hosted over 200 golfers to celebrate 30 years of golf and community impact.
Fresh Start’s longest-running event, the Charity Golf Classic is hosted annually by the Fresh Start Men’s Board to raise funds for the nonprofit’s mission to empower women. Under the leadership of Golf Tournament Chair, John Corey, and Men’s Board Chair, Kyle Miller, the Fresh Start Men’s Board put on a special anniversary event for players to have fun while supporting an important cause.
Fresh Start and the Men’s Board extend their deepest gratitude to presenting sponsor Valley Toyota Dealers, who has been a loyal partner to Fresh Start for over a decade. This year, Valley Toyota Dealers generously donated a 2025 Toyota Camry SE as a tournament raffle item. All funds raised from this raffle and the Charity Golf Classic will directly benefit Fresh Start’s programs.
Fresh Start empowers women on their journey to self-sufficiency and drives multigenerational change by providing services in five key areas: Family Stability, Health & Well-being, Financial Management, Education & Training, and Careers. The nonprofit remains dedicated to helping women as they pursue their personal and professional goals. “When a woman is empowered with access to the right resources, her success reverberates throughout her family and her community,” says President & CEO Kim McWaters. “The impact from today’s fundraising tournament will continue to be felt for generations to come.”
Fresh Start is so appreciative of the Men’s Board, and all the sponsors, donors, attendees, and volunteers who supported this historic 30th Annual Fresh Start Charity Golf Classic, presented by Valley Toyota Dealers.
Fresh Start’s mission is to provide access and resources that help women achieve self-sufficiency and use their strength to thrive. Our ultimate vision is to create unlimited opportunities for women. Over three decades, Fresh Start has supported more than 60,000 Arizona women, serving over 5,000 women in fiscal year 2024, who are 18 years and older. 62% are single mothers, 67% make an annual income less than $25k, and 68% are domestic violence survivors. These women face a variety of barriers hindering their ability to be personally or financially self-sufficient, including domestic violence, generational poverty, and unemployment. Through our award-winning Impact Program, Fresh Start offers focused programs, services, access to training and education, as well as employment and career services to help women reach their personal and professional goals.
