Unitek partners with nonprofit organization to help students achieve success in education and careers to build a better future for women.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Newport Beach, California – Unitek Learning is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Fresh Start Women’s Foundation (Fresh Start). A pillar in the Phoenix community for over 30 years, Fresh Start provides access and resources that empower women to achieve self-sufficiency and use their strength to thrive. The two organizations will partner on an aligned approach to supporting women on their journey toward real-world education, by offering Fresh Start’s Impact Program to Unitek’s Arizona-based students.
A science-based and evidence-informed model that is founded on brain science, the Impact Program leverages strategic goal setting to help women develop sustained behavior changes as they build success in their lives toward gaining economic independence. Students will have the opportunity to focus on five key areas of life success: family stability, health and well-being, financial management, education and training, and careers. The Impact Program’s support system, the first of its kind in Arizona, strengthens a woman’s decision-making skills, persistence, and resilience, empowering her to achieve her personal, educational, and life goals, and ultimately economic self-sufficiency.
“Since 1992, Fresh Start Women’s Foundation has been on a mission to positively reshape the lives of women and strengthen our communities,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek Learning. “Our goal is to partner with Fresh Start on workforce development for women. Together, we envision a community where every woman reaches her full potential through personal empowerment and financial self-sufficiency. With that in mind, we have educational pathways to help advance the workforce so they can take advantage of every opportunity they want today and down the road.”
Through this transformative partnership, Fresh Start will work with Unitek Learning to better assist students in Arizona by providing its students with access to Fresh Start’s Impact Program, including comprehensive support services and trained experts. Services available will include individual coaching and goal setting, financial literacy, mental health support groups, special topic workshops, and career advising.
“We’re honored to join forces with Fresh Start Women’s Foundation and help change the healthcare workforce. At Unitek, we are committed to educating and building workforce alignment so that the next generation can thrive,” said Karilyn Van Oosten, Vice President of Strategic Business Development at Unitek Learning. “Partnering with Fresh Start is an example of how Unitek Learning is collaborating with community partners to help women obtain skills that allow them to earn self-sustainable wages and change their lives.”
