FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is enjoying the success of the Second Annual Wine Women and Shoes presented by PetSmart. Hosted by the Fresh Start Women’s Foundation Auxiliary Board, this fundraising event included wine, shopping, and fashion that brought together generations of women.

Friends, colleagues, daughters, mothers and grandmothers from throughout the Phoenix area gathered at Chateau Luxe on September 15, 2018 and helped to raise over $200,000 to benefit Fresh Start Women’s Foundation.

Chelsey Davis from ABC15 Arizona held the coveted title of Emcee and attendees were treated to a sophisticated afternoon of wine tastings, a silent auction featuring amazing products and retail goodies, a fashion marketplace and a fashion show presented by Dillard’s. One highlight of the event included a contest to win the ultimate closet in the “Key to the Closet” competition. Sponsored by Scottsdale Fashion Square and Classy Closets, one lucky winner received the coveted prize that was valued at $8,250 and included designer bags, beauty baskets, gift cards and more!

“I am so proud of the leadership shown by our co-chairs, Kendra Miller and Lorena Van Assche,” says Cathy Kleeman, VP of Development at Fresh Start. “The Fresh Start Auxiliary Board has always been critical to the growth of our organization, it is amazing to see what a great job they have done reaching the next generation of people that will be passionate about Fresh Start’s mission.”

The luncheon also featured over 30 community-minded “Shoe Guys” who competed to be crowned the “King of Sole” through fundraising efforts. Andy Parnell, Chief Client Officer at LaneTerralever, was ultimately crowned king for raising over $2,000. In total, the Shoe Guys raised over $10,000 for Fresh Start and were a huge help as volunteers during the event.

Fresh Start Women’s Foundation is excited to continue the success of Wine, Women & Shoes and is eager to begin planning the 2019 event which will be held on September 21, 2019.
