Brandi

Brandi* had been working in the architectural field when the great recession hit.  She lost her job and fell into a serious depression.  She had no health insurance, no where to go and didn’t know what to do.  Her lease was up on her apartment and she could no longer afford it. 

Luckily, a friend who had used Fresh Start services after her small business had fallen through, told her about Fresh Start. Brandi visited Fresh Start to take the orientation and then met with a master’s level social worker to help her focus on her career goals. 

Fresh Start was able to give Brandi valuable referrals to help with her living situation. She took a workshop about boundary setting, classes about coping, and was visiting Fresh Start one to two times per week. She found that every time she was in a situation where she didn’t know what to do, she was able to come to Fresh Start for support. 

Brandi then decided to go back to school to work on her master’s degree in construction management.  And, with Fresh Start’s support, Brandi developed a clear path to achieve her goal.

Now with a master’s degree and a new job, Brandi is able to support herself again. She says that Fresh Start really helped her with the healing process and that Fresh Start took her from the depths of despair through a journey of growth and renewal.
