PARTNER SUCCESS STORY

Maricopa County Community Colleges

Fresh Start is deeply grateful for the partnership and support of Maricopa County Community Colleges as they help advance our mission: empowering women to succeed!

Jason Weinstein, Chief Officer of Corporate Engagement at Maricopa Community Colleges, shares more about the impact of this transformative partnership:

“Fresh Start is an incredible partner in helping women access life-changing career training at Maricopa Community Colleges,” says Weinstein. “Together, we’ve seen women step into high-growth fields like semiconductor manufacturing through programs such as our 10-day Semiconductor Technician Quick Start program. Graduates not only gain new skills and confidence, but many have also secured higher-wage jobs that make a real difference for their families. It’s inspiring to watch the impact this partnership makes every day.”

“There have been so many special moments working alongside Fresh Start,” Weinstein continues, “from celebrating women’s achievements at their Celebration of Success events to joining national conversations on workforce development with leaders like the Acting Secretary of Labor. But the most meaningful moments are always seeing the real impact this partnership has on the women themselves.

“One story that stands out is Elizabeth’s*. Through Fresh Start, Elizabeth was introduced to the Route to Relief program at Maricopa Community Colleges and pursued her Certificate of Completion in Small Business Start-Up at Paradise Valley Community College. Despite personal adversity and the demands of full-time work, Elizabeth showed incredible resilience and determination. She not only completed her program but also launched her own business, Enlighten Inspire Achieve, LLC, and has already begun giving back to the community through initiatives like her Liners to Luggage Backpack & Duffel Drive for foster youth.

“Elizabeth even took the stage at one of our JobFest events as a student speaker, sharing her inspiring journey with others,” says Weinstein. “Her success is a powerful reminder of why we value our partnership with Fresh Start—because together, we are opening doors to opportunity and empowering women to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.”
