About the event:
“Law Day for Women” is a free, “first-come, first served” event that gives attendees the opportunity to meet one-on-one meetings with volunteer attorneys, legal professionals, and financial planning professionals.
Join us to get answers on legal questions in the diverse areas of law, including bankruptcy, disability, family, employment, immigration, landlord/tenant, tax, wills and trusts, and more! Plus, receive guidance from professionals in financial planning, mortgage planning, real estate, and other financial matters*.
Additional support is also available in partnership with the Law Library Resource Center (LLRC).

Día De Ley Para Mujeres es un evento gratuito que funciona por orden de llegada y ofrece consultas individuales con abogados, profesionales del ámbito jurídico y expertos en planificación financiera voluntarios. Estos profesionales responderán a preguntas legales sobre las siguientes áreas*: bancarrota, derecho de familia, derecho laboral, inmigración, relaciones entre propietarios e inquilinos, impuestos, y testamentos y fideicomisos. Además, podrá acceder a apoyo adicional a través del Centro de Recursos de la Biblioteca Jurídica.
*Tenga en cuenta que no todos los abogados voluntarios hablan español. Si necesita un intérprete, traiga a alguien para que lo interprete (el intérprete debe ser mayor de edad).

What to expect day-of:
– Get in line early: this is a first-come, first-served event! Check-in begins at 9:00am and ends at 10:00am. Attendees arriving after 10:30am are not guaranteed an attorney appointment, as slots may be full. / Haga fila temprano: ¡por orden de llegada! El registro de entrada comienza a las 9am y finaliza a las 10am. A los asistentes que lleguen después de las 10:30 am no se les garantiza una cita con un abogado, ya que los turnos podrían estar completos.
– Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select the area of law you would like help with to ensure that we have plenty of volunteer attorneys available to answer your questions! Please note that attorney practice areas are subject to change based on volunteer availability. / Las reuniones con abogados voluntarios y expertos financieros se programan por orden de llegada. Preinscríbase en el área de derecho con la que desea ayuda, de modo que podamos asegurarnos de que tengamos suficiente abogados voluntarios disponibles para responder sus preguntas. – Like most first-come, first-served events, we cannot project how long it will take for you to be seen, so please plan accordingly. Connect with the Court: Fresh Start is proud to highlight the work of the Law Library Resource Center (LLRC)! The LLCR will be on site at Law Day for Women to print court forms, as well as review forms for completeness. They will also be able to provide information and next steps for divorce, custody, name changes, and more!
*The LLRC staff will not provide legal advice, but can offer resources and information for your legal needs, making you feel confident with this process.
Conéctese con el tribunal: ¡Fresh Start se enorgullece de destacar el trabajo del Centro de Recursos de la Biblioteca Jurídica! El Centro de Recursos de la Biblioteca Jurídica estará presente en el Día de la Ley para Mujeres para imprimir formularios judiciales y revisarlos para verificar que estén completos. También podrán brindar información y los pasos a seguir para casos de divorcio, custodia, cambio de nombre y mucho más.
