  • Vision, with the Brains Club from Barrow Neurological Institute

    The Vision module ties in the connection between your eyes and your brains and explores how vision impacts your attention, memory, and organization. Taking care of your eyes, or maintaining good visual hygiene, is a way to ensure you are able to take on tasks that are important for work, school, and daily life. Just like working out to get stronger, the muscles in your eyes benefit from exercises too. This module teaches you ways to keep your eyes healthy and teaches strategies for resting your eyes.

    Join us for a workshop dedicated to helping us understand how stress and trauma impacts our memory!

    In this session, we’ll discuss the different types and stages of memory, common memory problems, why it is important to address memory difficulties, and external and internal memory strategies. We will also complete puzzles to practice memory strategies. Finally, we’ll learn more about how to use both internal and external memory strategies to improve our lives. Internal memory strategies include: association, chunking, repetition, verbal rehearsal, and visualization. External memory strategies include: note taking, use of a planner, use of cell phone apps, calendar, etc.
